Launch Summary

A direct contrast from last month's blustery event, this launch provided a full day of great flights. Lee Reep returned to flying with us in great style by counting up the alphabet, Sesame Street style, flying A through G impulse in sequence. Not to be outdone, Joe Hinton, did the same but continued into high power with a sequence of A through I. Congratulations to Clint Furrer, John Marvin, and Mike Anderson on successful certification flights (L1 and two L2's, respectively)! The Parson's wowed the crowd with the Lab Ratt lifting on the hybrid K240 - spectacular! The Centurian Group cycled the 100K-In-A-Day rocket twice as dress rehearsal for the main event later this month - two flights in 21 minutes accumulating 7424 feet in altitude. Altitude records for B, F, and H impulse classes set by Bill Heath, Dustin Messner, and Scott Harless, respectively. Finishing the day with 86 flights, the club set a new single day record for number of launches.

Weather Conditions

The day started warm (mid 60's) with partly cloudy skies and calm winds. Mid day brought mostly high-clouds and breezes out of the S.W., some periods of 10-15mph winds. Temperatures made it into the high 70's, all in all a nearly perfect day for flying.
