Northern Colorado Rocketry
2009-10-02 NCR Club Launch - Oktoberfest 2009 - Day One

North Site - Pawnee National Grasslands

Friday October 2nd, 2009

Launch Summary

Day One of a planned three day weekend launch. Huge thanks to Joe Cowan for towing out the trailer on Thursday and to all the volunteers that helped set up the range.  10 flyers braved the wind and cold to launch 22 flights.  Notable flights include Art Hoag's entries into the Up the Alphabet contest and James Russell's Performance Rocketry Little Dog "Charlie" that went for a run on an Aerotech J420 and didn't come home.  Clusters or staged flights are recorded denoting the largest motor used.  Flights are listed in a random order as the cards have been sorted and shuffled eliminating the correct sequence of events.  A's=1, B's=2, C's=5, D's=4, E's=1, F's=1, G's=4, No H's, I's=2, J's=2.

Weather Conditions

Windy and cold in the morning.  More wind and cold thru the lunch hour.  Cloudy, overcast skies that never really broke.  More wind, cold and then dark.
