Launch Summary

A handful of flyers ignored the threat of bad weather and enjoyed some of the best flying conditions we could expect. Perhaps the conditions were too good because the two Icarus attempts made this day were unencumbered by winds aloft, allowing them to loft beyond the 9000' flight limit. John Wilke's Contender posted at 9413' and Bob Messner logged in at 9780'. Brock Bayes entered the Mile High Club with his X-Caliber boosting to 5916'.

Weather Conditions

Cold, variable clouds, and sometimes breezy. Winds aloft were calm. As the day progressed, the chilly winds made jackets the the appropriate style statement.
