NCR Club Launch - May 2009

Launch Summary

Regularly scheduled regional launch - Mile High Mayhem.  Thanks to Ken Plattner for delivering the trailer early on so the range set up could happen comfortably on Thursday. Day One - 39 different flyers put up 145 flights.  Lots of activity in the Up With the Alphabet, too many flights (33) by Bill Beggs.  Notable flights include a Jr L1 Cert for Adam Stumbaugh, L1 for Chris Murdock, Mike Hacker and Kevin Brady, Bill Taylor's Queen Ice on a K270, Doug Gerrard's new BDCR, and Ed Dawson's Saturn V.  Motor usage breaks down as follows, with staged flights and clusters credited to the largest motor used.  All A's=20, B's=12, C's=24, D's=17, E's=11, F's=9, G's=18, H's=16, I's=15, J's=4, K's=1 and 2 M's.  And the flight cards have been shuffled and sorted so many times, there is absolutely no resemblance to the order of flight sequernces. 

Weather Conditions

Could have been worse.  In hindsight, maybe the best weather conditions of the weekend.  Morning started heavily overcast and dreary, with a persistent threat of scattered showers.  Skies cleared and remain favorable between 11 and 6 and the skies cleared enough for an altitude window between 1 and 3.  Winds aloft were forgiving and temperatures were well entrenched in the low sixties, as predicted.  Evening showers scrubbed Friday Night at the Movies and widely scattered showers fell off and on during the night.
