NCR Club Launch - July 2010

Launch Summary

Regularly scheduled NCR TRA Research launch.  Range need little modification from Saturday's set up.  Thanks to Ken Reilly for towing the trailer back to storage.  Waiver and range were opened at 8 AM and forcibly closed by weather at 2 PM.   Huge thanks to all that stuck it out to get the equipment put in out of the rain - Mike Shinn, David Bishop, Jon Skuba, the Reilly's, Ted and Colin Apke, Larry Haynes and whatever drowned rats I've forgotten to mention.

23 flyers put up 46 flights: 21 Class One and 25 Class Two. Flights are listed in a random order and motor usage breaks down as follows: A's=2, NO B's, c"s=6, D's=4, E's=2, F's=2, G's=5, H's=7, I's=7, J's=7, K's=1, NO L's, M's=1 and 2 research loads.

Weather Conditions

Near perfect weather in the morning with just a hint of wind to keep the bugs away and cool the fortunate enough to have brought shade that survived the wild weather Saturday evening.  Clear skies overhead but ominous weather built to the west and rolled in very quickly, bringing heavy thundershowers and wind at least 2 hours before predicted/expected.
