NCR Club Launch - June 2006

Launch Summary

Regularly scheduled Club Launch. Range and Waiver were opened at 8 AM on what should have been a great summer day on the praiire. Thanks to Warren Musselman for towing out the equipment trailer and to Eric Parson for towing it back to civilization. Special thanks to Bryan Penfold from The Rocket Garden for towing out his incredible store on wheels and to Tim Thomas from Giant Leap for coming over the hill to support our HPR launch activites. Bravo to the 32 different flyers that put up with the unusual winds and rain and hail squalls to log another 53 flights. Congratulations to Bob Dixon for his L1 with TRA, to Mike Payne and the flying duo of Steve and Chris Frazier for their L2 with TRA. Motors - A's=1, B's=1, C's=4, D's=3, E's=2, F's=7, G's=13, H's=8, I's=4, J's=6, K's=2 However, these numbers should change slightly as there were two flights without motors listed on the log.

Weather Conditions

Unusual weather for June. Constant winds in the 12 to 20 mph range, cycling around the compass points and afternoon rain and hail squalls made for a blustery day on the praiire. Temps never reached the predicted highs in the 90's but the sun and wind kept the clouds at bay for most of the day.
