Atlas Site - Pawnee National Grasslands

Launch Summary
Regularly scheduled club launch. Range and waiver were operational by 9 AM. 63 flights from a total of 22 flyers. Art Hoag led the way with nine flights, closely followed by Jon Skuba with eight and Bill Heath with seven. A's=3, B's=5, C's=11, D's=2 E's=12, F's=4, G's=8, H's=8, I's=5, J's=5 Clustered motors only counted as one flight but there were three reported clustered flights, one with 3 B's and two with 2 D's. Notable flights - Sarah Kemp's scratch built Spike, Darrel Luebbe 's Boost Glider and Congratulations to Nate Luebbe for his L1 Cert with TRA. One rocket reported lost - Joe and Shirley's Bull Puppy - flown on an H268 Redline - last seen way out there to the Northwest. Operations concluded at 3 PM. Thanks again to Bill Heath for towing the equipment trailer both ways and to all the volunteers that helped with the set up. operations and tear down. This was another very smooth and fun launch to attend although colder than anticipated.
Weather Conditions
Expected warm temperatures never materialized. The wind high aloft was deceptive and the ground winds remained brisk but manageable. Gusts peaked at 12 to 16 miles per hour but it generally remained calm. Temperatures were slow to climb and leveled off in the mid forties.
