Northern Colorado Rocketry
2010-05-29 NCR Club Launch - MHM 2010 Day 2

North Site - Pawnee National Grasslands

Saturday May 29th, 2010

Launch Summary

Day two of Mayhem.  Something like 53 different flyers put up 86  flights.  Notable flights include the 8 way GITS (Gone in two seconds) Drag race, Chris LaPanse's L3 shot, Rick Sipin's cluster of D's, Jacob Pfund's L2 cert flight on a K635 and lots of other big shots and cert attempts.

Weather Conditions

Unbelievable - dead calm at 5 AM and then the wind kicked in and blew all day long, gently at first but gradually increasing to gusts of 18 mph.  However, most of the wind was ground level to 1000'.  Otherwise, clear skies until late afternoon.  Big weather threatened but missed us completely, as if we were the eye of the storm.  Great light show to the East and West of us, a splatter of rain, colder temps but the wind finally died about three AM Sunday morning.  We caught the tail end of a huge front that never quite made it over the Rockies.
