NCR Club Launch - May 2012

Launch Summary

Regularly scheduled club launch to coincide with NAR Regional - Pawnee Pioneer Open.  Thanks to Mike Shinn for towing both ways and to all the volunteers that helped with range set up and clean up.  Kudos to Chad Moore and Ted Apke for LCO duties; thanks to Russ Anthony (Pioneer Open Contest Director) and Mike Konshak (Assistant CD) and all of the Pawnee contestants, including the East High School TARC Team from Cheyenne - Good luck and clear skies at Nationals -  and HUGE Praise and appreciation to everyone that helped with the small pad fire.  Notable flights include L1 Certs for Mark Jeffords and Michael Estes and L2 Certs for Scott Cowherd and Dave Holloway.  95 flights from 43 different flyers. Flights are not listed in the correct order and motor usage breaks down as follows, with staged and/or clustered flights credited to the largest motor.  64 Class One and 31 Class Two.  A's=6, B's=11, C's=10, D's=4, E's=4, F's=16, G's=13, H's=9, I's=11, J's=4, K's=6 and L's=1

Weather Conditions

Awesome!  Early morning calmness and clear skies gradually changed to partly cloudy and gusty winds.  Ground winds kept changing directions as a front slowly manifested from the northwest, eventually threatening possible showers.  Waiver from 9 AM until operations ceased at 1:30 to deal with a small pad fire.  Closed waiver at 2:00
