Launch Summary
Special re-scheduled regular NCR TRA Research Launch. Range set for safety and ease of operations. Thanks to Troy Hummel for towing out the equipment trailer Friday night and to Art Hoag, Mark Lionberger and Dennis Billings for helping with range setup. General Waiver (20,000' AGL) active at ten, high altitude windows (35,000' AGL) from 11 to 1 and 3 to 5. Lots of notable flights - that's why we call it Research. All impressive flights but most notable have to include Brad Harless' boost to 13,549' on a 3" scratch built, Klye Parson's entry in the SSSS,"Mother of all Krockets" to 23,500'by Jim Amos, John Bixler's "Junior" to 21,785, G record attempts by Adrian Adamson, the N and K cluster "Freeze Frame" by Doug Gerrard and John Wilke's "Casey Mae" to 30,172'. Flights are listed in a random order just because. Motors for the day included Swamp Gas, AN and AP propellants. 1 F, 6 G's, 1 H, 7 I's, 3 J's,5 K's,2 L's,2 M's and 1 N. Huge thanks to Doug Gerrard for fresh popped corn and Saturday Night at the Movies.
Weather Conditions
Stunning clear skies and higher than expected temps. Little to no wind aloft and calm to just almost annoying ground breezes at times. Absolutely prefect conditions for flying rockets.
