Launch Summary

Day 2 of a scheduled three day event celebrating October skies over the prairie of the Pawnee National Grassland. Another great crowd and very active day on the range. 112 different flyers helped boost a total of 296 flights on motors ranging from MicroMaxx to N. The number of motors listed does not exactly add up to the number of flights as a few cards did not specify motor size. A's=19, B's=17, C's=61, D's=28, E's=27, F's=15, G's=27, H's=42, I's=22, J's=14, K's=3, L's=4, M's=4 and N's=1 Clusters or staged flights are recorded denoting the largest motor used. Flights are listed in a random scrambled order as the flight cards have been shuffled and sorted a few times thereby eliminating the correct sequence of flights launched.

Weather Conditions

Couldn't have asked for better weather or flying conditions. Following a full moon the night before, the sun cracked the horizon's edge and began to warm the campers and early arivers with tender heat, promising an almost hot day. A tickle of a breeze kept the crowd comfortable and the range went active at 8 AM. High powered flights lasted all day, right up until 6 PM when coincidently the wind indicated a change in weather was coming and coming fast with an ugly forecast for Sunday.
