NCR Club Launch - Oktoberfest 2008 - Day One

Launch Summary

Day One of Okotberfest '08.  35 different flyers put up a total of 93 flights.  Rick McDonald lead the field with 11 flights, Ron Dreasher on his heels with 10.  William Fann, all the way from Lincoln, NE. chased with 8.  Clusters or staged flights are recorded denoting the largest motor used and flights are listed in a scrambled random order as the cards have been shuffled and sorted a few times.  Lots of notable flights including Keith Packard's L1 cert, a National Record flight for 24mm helicopter by Rcik McDonald (223 sec), John Bixler and Junior reaching 22,312', Mike Konshak's Slipstick III to 16,686'   (Three Mile Club), a snitch drag race, Mike Shinn's Pawnee Arrow on a K660 airstarting 2 H180's, Doug Gerrard's Little Freeze Frame and Dennis Billing's 100th flight with NCR.  And the day was completed with a few night flights.  Huge thanks to Doug Gerrard for the popcorn and Friday Night at the Movies.  A's=1, B's=5, C's=13, D's=8, E's=10, F's=8, G's=17, H's=11, I's=6, J's=6, K's=8 and M's=1.   

Weather Conditions

Simply incredible!   Chilly overnight tingles disappeared as soon as the sun breached the horizon and clear Colorado skies prevailed for most of the day.  Winds aloft were neglible and temps reached high in the seventies.
