Launch Summary
Regularly scheduled club launch although changed from the Atlas Site to the North Site because the weather has been cooperating. Range set up was accomplished and ready by 9 AM. Thanks to Bob Dixon for towing out the ewuipment trailer. The waiver was delayed in opening until President Bush had completed his campiagn stops in the Greeley area. We went active about twelve thirty and made up for lost time. 34 flyers put up 88 flights with the following breakdown in motor usage. Clustered or staged flights are credited to the largest motor used. A's=2 B's=7 C's=24 D's=6 E's=8 F's=8 G's=13 H's=7 I's=10 J's=2 K's=0 L's=0 M's=1 Notable flights include Paul Harrison's NAR L1 cert on an H180, Justin Freebergs's "Rising Thunder" on a M1315 to 13,303', Bob Messner's "WolverineIII" Icarus shot to 9905', John Wilke's hard recovery of his Single Shot with a reported altitude of 5876', Ed Dawson's more impressive but disqualified Single Shot entry to 6275' and newly certified L3 Andy Zollar's three staged Commanche III on a D to a B to an A. There remain two Single Shot entries MIA and rewards have been posted.
Weather Conditions
Clear to partly cloudy and chilly early on but warmed nicely for a November day on the prairie. A little bit of ground breeze and winds aloft were generally calm but still blowing out of the north-northwest. Skies remain mostly clear and calm.
