NCR Club Launch - July 2010

Launch Summary

Regularly schedule club launch.  Thanks to Mike Shinn for towing out and help with setting the range Friday evening.  62 flyers put up 122 flights; 91 Class One, 31 Class Two.  Large turn out for the High July launch, including Scout Troop 548 from Longmont.  Two windows arranged for on Saturday - Waiver and range active at 8 AM and operational until 4 PM when weather caused issues.  Flights are listed in random order as the lauch cards have been shuffled and sorted a few times.  Motor usage breaks down as follows, with staged flights and clusters credited to the largest motor used.  A's=10, B's=15, C's=23, D's=10, E's=8, F's=8, G's=17, H's=8, I's=11, J's=4, K's=4, L's=3 and M's=1.

Weather Conditions

Stupendous clear skies and a wisp of wind for a gorgeous day on the prairie.  Clouds slowly built in the west and slowly rolled over, delivering predicted scattered showers on schedule at 4 PM.  Twenty minutes of sputter and threats of worse moved off to pummel the eastern plains and relatively calm and dry returned for the evening.  Sunset thermal caught many un-awares and blew briefly before laying down for the evening.  Dark skies above made for some fabulous start gazing.
