Pawnee Grasslands - North Site
Saturday September 7th, 2002
Launch Summary
A beautiful day on the prairie set the stage for a good day of flying. John Wilke made a ground-shaking flight with his hybrid Ratt K240 powered "Screaming Mimi". Dale Netherton and Scott Harless made successful, but short Icarus attempts - Dale's "Cross Fingers" was the first boosted-dart entry in the contest. Chris Hickins brought out and flew a beautiful 20-year old Black Brant 2 that has spent most of its life on display at a local hobby store.
Weather Conditions
Clear and hot with calm winds aloft. Ground breezes blew most of the day. Clouds developed late in the day and a light sprinkle fell as we shutdown and cleaned up the equipment.
