Atlas Site - Pawnee Grasslands
Saturday February 1st, 2020
Launch Summary
A valient attempt to beat the storm front rolling in. Dead calm when we set up but increasingly windy and stronger gusts became sustained winds in the high teens, with gusts exceeding 30 mph.
No flights were tried - sensibilities prevailed. Good visit from Steve Kittrell, US Forest Service. Lots of University students hoping to get Certified. Hopefully better weather for March.
Thanks to Joe for towing and range set up/clean up help from Conner, Jim Hein, Bob Dixon, John Jamieson, Jon SKuba, David Pinter, Brian Houghton. Did I miss anyone?
Weather Conditions
No fly day - way too windy to even consider lofting bricks. But a fair amount of sunshine and warmth out of the wind, sheltered behind vehicles. Officially scrubbed by 10:30 AM as predictions for stronger winds and a storm front moving in materialized.
