Launch Summary

Day Three of Mile High Mayhem.  59 different flyers put up 120 flights, taking advantage of the clearing skies and utilizing one window of opportunity to exceed the standard waiver.  Notable flights include Sean Serell's L2 cert,and subsequent Goose is Loose L shot,  three L3 cert flights by Greg Arend, Joe Cowan and Scott Evans, Mike Shinn's Accelerated Motion L730 shot with three J285 air starts, Chris LaPanse's Amraam 4" on an L2200, Doug Krohn's Contrail L1428 in the Gas has Passed and Doug Gerrard and Art Hoag flying the Odyssey project on a Russell Red O motor.  Flights are listed in a random order and motor usage breaks down as follows, with staged flights and clusters credited to the largest motor used.  All A's=6, B's=4, C's=23, D's=8, E's=7, F's=6, G's=8, H's=15, I's=12, J's=11, K's=6, L's=8, M's=5 and O's=1.

Weather Conditions

Another overcast and low cloud ceiling morning.  Waiver opened later than originally scheduled due to sky conditions but by ten we were flying high.  Clouds parted and skies cleared for an exceptional day.  Winds aloft cooperated until late in the afternoon when the clouds rolled back over the site.  Threat of showers didn't materialize until later in the evening.
