NCR Club Launch - July 2009

Launch Summary

Regularly scheduled club launch.  Thanks to Ken Reilly for towing out, Mark Stumbaugh for towing back and to all of the usual suspects for help setting up and packing up the range.  Flight Operations are always easier with the extra help.  62 flyers put up a total of 171 flights - 132 Class One, 49 Class Two.  At least 8 sucessful Certification flights, inlcuding a Jr. L1 for Ted Danielson, an L1 for his dad Brian, L1 for Byran Penfold and Roger Gray, L2 for Paul Fecteau, Paul Fechtmeister, and Doug Schmidt and L1 and L2 for Henry Ainsworth, along with too many other notable flights to mention.  Alphabet contest in progress.  Flights are listed in a random order as the launch cards have been shuffled and sorted a few times.  Motor usage breaks down as follows, with staged flights and clusters credited to the largest motor used.  All A's=15, B's=13, C's=38, D's=19, E's=14, F's=4, G's=19 H's=22, I's=9, J's=10, K's=6, L's=1, M's=1.

Weather Conditions

Cloudless sky, calm winds and high temps prevailed until about three.  Clouds rolled in, the wind blew and a severe thundershower innudated the prairie but fortunately operations had closed for the day.  A spectacular light show and Mother Nature's fury was witnessed by those that camped out for Sunday's Research launch.
