NCR Club Launch - July 2008

Launch Summary

Second day of a special re-scheduled NCR TRA Research launch.  Range was already set up from Saturday's operations.  General Waiver (20K AGL) was active at 8AM and High Altitude Windows (35K AGL) arranged for 10 to noon and 2 to 4.  27 flights from 18 different flyers.  Notable flights have to include the premier of the CTI V-Max motors by Tim Thomas and Troy Hummel, John Reilly's "Calisto" to 5628' (one mile club) SSSS shot by Scott Evans to 8975, Cliff Hohenstein's "Prometheus" on a Russell Red N1850 to 10,942 (two mile club), "Bixler-Wilke Express" to 23,949 (four mile club) and Art Hoag's "The Dream is Alive" retirement flight on an AMW N4000 Blue Baboon.  Flights are listed in whatever order the cards finished after shuffling.  Motors for the day included Swamp Gas, APCP and a Cliff Special.  4 G's, 5 H's, 5 I's, 6 J's, 4 K's and 2 N's.   HUGE thanks to Mike Bennett for range tear down, trailer packing and towing. 

Weather Conditions

A repeat of Saturday's weather, only more so.  Hotter than expected and stronger ground winds than anticipated.  Almost perfect conditions for flying more rockets.
