Pawnee Grasslands - North Site
Saturday May 14th, 2005
Launch Summary
Most notable for this launch were the presence of Erie Middle School and the Heatherwood Elementary school group that Jon Skuba has been mentoring. The bunch of kids kept the low power range busy all day. Jon and the club president Joe managed to get Yardbird lofted again on a Rattworks L and successfully recovered the rocket and the two rubber chickes that went along for the ride. John Wilke had some awesome shots, finishing the Race to Space in style. Troy launched his Iris on an Animal Motorworks K-570 Green Gorilla and Jeff Gessaman took a shot at the Icarus on an Aerotech I-195.Thanks to John Wilke for towing the trailer out and to Brock Bayes for towing home.
Weather Conditions
Weather was clear, calm and hot. Winds strenghtened toward the end of the day after most flights had been logged.
