NCR Club Launch - Oktoberfest 2008 - Day Three

Launch Summary

Day Three of our party on the Prairie.  53 fliers stuck around to put up a total of 100 flights.  The range need very little modification for today's flights.  Notable flights include Bryan Schmidt and Keith Packard's L2 certs, Mark Stumbaugh's G80 SSS Living on the Edge to 5967', Scott Harless' Unleash the Beast on a Russell Red N, Chris Frazier's hybrid system,  the Neil Kinney and Todd Williams Drag Race on Green Monkey motors, and Doug Gerrard's Freeze Frame on an N and two big K's.   Clusters or staged flights are recorded denoting the largest motor used and flights are listed in a random order because the cards got mixed up and sorted thur too many times to keep the proper sequence.  For the sake of simplicity, Research motors are listed in the particular class they belong in.  A's=4, B's=21, C's=20, D's=8, E's=5, F's=6, G's=9, H's=4, I's=7, J's=10, K's=2, L's=1, M's=1, N's=2 

Weather Conditions

Admittedly, the weather Saturday evening probably scared some folks off but for everyone that stayed on the range, Sunday turned out to be another beautiful day on the praiire.  Early morning cloud cover gave way to clear skies and slightly cooler temperatures but the winds remained calm and comfortable to fly in.  That is, right until the anticipated front rolled in, bringing with it gusting,  stronger winds and the promise of scattered showers that weren't going to miss us this time.  Flight operations were closed at 3PM and the cleanup hustle began.  A motivated loadup guaranteed a dry ride home for everyone.  Thanks to all for a GREAT WEEKEND!
