Well, seeing as I’ll be walking the grassland a lot this weekend looking for my SSS, I’ll keep an eye out for it.
Joe Hinton found our case while searching for his SSS i was just wondering where he found it??? we looked for a good 2.5 hrs with binoculars
But thanks Joe!

I’m bad at judging distances but it was out from the launch site about as far as the first windmill and off to the south, at the foot of the slowly rolling hills that roll and rise to the upper plateau in the southeast of the launch area. It was pretty well hidden in a scrub of whatever that native grass like cactus stuff is and I probably wouldn’t have seen it except for the glint of the very early morning sun as I was returning to the site from searching for Warren and Chris’ SSS rockets as I had already recovered mine.
sorry dad thats a 38MM 5 grain Cesaroni case sitting on the grassland somewhere, not a 54mm
We are Good to Go with our scheduled and approved launch on Saturday April 5th and Sunday April 6th, from the North Site, subject to change – Mostly cloudy and High Winds predicted. Range and waiver should be active by 9AM on Saturday. The Pawnee National Grassland remains fragile and dry, so extra precautions are in order. Please stay on the authorized roads and please don’t park more than 100’ off the road at the flight line.
