Looking over Jim’s Web site for some Christmas presents (from my wife), I noticed a “factory close-out” sale on PET2 timers, so I bought one for myself… from my wife. Jim, say it ain’t so?! And, are you replacing it with another version?
Bruce its my understanding from Jim that the entire line of Missile works product is being all revamped to the new line. His thru hole manufacture is no longer going to be around so all of his new stuff I believe is being converted over to surface mount or semi surface mount. Im sure before to long you will see the newer extreme altimeters, the new wireless and new timer products. Now again Im just speaking from 2nd hand info. But if I remember Jim telling me correctly…… Hopefully he comes and post so we know and if im full of it.. or what.. lol
Someone who will go unmentioned directed me over here, saying I should weigh in. Conway is correct, all the old thru-hole designs are no longer manufacturable since my fabricators have closed up shop.
The original Classic and X version altimeters have been gone since last May, and the last of the WRC systems sold around XPrize time. The PET timer is the last of the old thru hole products in stock, hence I’m selling them at a very attractive price.
You will see more new products being rolled out in the coming months as design time allows. The mini took much longer than anticiapted to get released, primarily because the new baro chamber sealing was much more critical with the new pressure standard.
Plans for the new product lineup include a new timer, a wireless remote system, a sonde/tracker system, a high altitude baro altimeter (100K+), and an inertial/baro controller using many of the concepts developed with my mPAC system.
I thought so and thought this was worth addressing. I also bought another mini; can’t have too many of those. 😉
Jim, it all sounds terrific! when will the sonde unit be available?
