hard to find black powder

Notice the difference in whether it’s loose or contained. When it’s contained properly, looks about the same. I’ve never used it. Geez, I bet it’s the same site… those are the canisters I personally use for rockets K and under. Works every time.

So where can one get ffff bk powder around here? I have 2 core sampled rockets from using pyrodex. Of course I just substituted it for 4f and before Ive seen the video. But now im very nervous using it again no matter what.

3f workes well for me. could not find 4f here in cheyenne.

remember to test. each powder is a little different.

I always use 4f.. Never Pyrodex, or 3F… Just had best luck with 4F..

There’s a gun store right on the east side of College in Fort Collins that sells 4F.

One reason people will look at you funny when you ask for 4F is that it’s basically only used for flintlock rifles and then largely for the priming pan. Way too energetic for anything else. The coarser grinds are used for various weapons. I knew a guy who had a BP shotgun and he used 3F and not much at that. I had a BP .50 single shot pistol that used 2F many years ago. Large cannons back in the days before modern artillery used quite coarse powder.
