Last night and this morning I laid up my own fin stock(4 sqr ft.) 5 layers of kevlar and 6 layers of CF. Probly $250 worth of material. It came out about .160 thick. I kept it under compression between 2 pieces of mdf board with a 326-1/2 pound press, 🙂 made up of 1 dewalt compessor, a bench vise, a box of nails, a spare car battery, misc. hitches and other items.
Looks to be very bullet proof. 😉 🙂
Wieghed it tonight, only about 2/3rds of what g10 wieghs.
Of coarse we new that right?
After 2 more days of curing its feels even more Tuff 🙂 😉
We are Good to Go with our scheduled and approved launch on Saturday April 5th and Sunday April 6th, from the North Site, subject to change – Mostly cloudy and High Winds predicted. Range and waiver should be active by 9AM on Saturday. The Pawnee National Grassland remains fragile and dry, so extra precautions are in order. Please stay on the authorized roads and please don’t park more than 100’ off the road at the flight line.
