What have these been like?
Anyone tried one yet? (K590)
🙂 Mike, CTI has had real good results from this motor. I have them on order, and I am trying to snake a few of the bigger K’s (6XL case) duel thrust motors for demo’s. (Not certed yet) They have the same burn profile, but a 1.5 sec. longer burn. I will keep ya posted.. Tim
And when Tim says they’re not certed yet, that means they can fly on Research days. Am I right?
Tim, If you get some 6XL dual thrust motors I’d be glad to try one (there is an understatement) 8) I have a rocket that I have flown on the Ellis L330, a Loki K350, and an Aerotech K250. I’d love to see how the dual thrust motor does vs. those 3 motors.
The rocket mentioned above – benchmarK – has 4 flights over 20K. So far, so good!
BTW, if launched as a “Manufacturer’s demo”, I believe this motor could be flown on a regular launch day. Not sure about that, but I believe that is correct. Of course waiver, etc. would have to be obeyed.
What I’d really love is one of these to throw in my AMRAAM:

I may even have to get my L3 just for this motor 😀
We are Good to Go with our scheduled and approved launch on Saturday April 5th and Sunday April 6th, from the North Site, subject to change – Mostly cloudy and High Winds predicted. Range and waiver should be active by 9AM on Saturday. The Pawnee National Grassland remains fragile and dry, so extra precautions are in order. Please stay on the authorized roads and please don’t park more than 100’ off the road at the flight line.
