So Jeremiah and I were launching at a park today in Westminster and had a friendly bike officer stop by for a chat. He told us that no models are allowed in the parks but would not run us off unless someone complained. Now, I took that to mean – no rockets, planes or helis. Go figure.
We still had a great day with very little wind, a few lawn darts and one lost to a pond. I managed to get my Estes Eliminator up to 1079′ and land it about 75 yds away from us. It’s a bit heavy w/ the alt bay and piston eject, but that was still the best boost yet w/ an E9-7. I bought 30 ish rockets of various companies from a guy and got to fly half of them today. It made me miss the HP launches. Now that the oil business is grinding to a halt, I look forward to seeing you guys up North again.

I’m not that stressed, I put things in God’s hands. I have plenty of skills he gave me to make extra $$ if I need to and no credit card balances like most do 🙂 I learned that lesson years ago, cash or no deal.

I haven’t carried a credit card balance past the end of the month in more than 15 years and carry no other debt either. I own all 3 of my vehicles outright. On the other hand, I also don’t have deep pockets and can’t handle a major economic downturn if I lose my job unless I start pillaging the 401K which did take a major dump over the last couple months.
Personally, I’d like to find a new career – the problem is how do you step out from something where you make a damn good living to something else where I probably won’t for some time? I’ve got four basic skillsets and only one of them is current in terms of employment at the income level I currently enjoy… none of the other three would produce even 2/3 of what I make as an IT manager. Residential construction and remodel has taken a major dump so that’s out; my C/C++ programming skills haven’t been exercised since before Windows 95; my EE skills as a circuit designer haven’t been exercised on a commercial basis since the ’80’s and it’s been 30 years since I played at being a mechanic… dilemma, dilemma…
I keep thinking that in a bad economy, the one thing that never crashes is sin… a liquor store or bar wouldn’t be a bad investment now, but with credit so tight it would rough to start or buy one now. As with anything like that, it all comes down to location besides.

Miller/Coors just started ramping up production…. Back east, Coors is being brewed for the first time in a Miller brewery – all new equipment and stuff, but they seem to know something or be expecting sales to pick up.
Yup, tough place to be right now. Good thing I have plenty of BP motors and a small stash of HP ones….. I got 200 motors of various sizes from the guy I mentioned above. So, you guys will at least see me flying a lot of Estes and other “really cool” odd brands of BP birds…… Well, not to mention 350# of AP and about 30 gal of R45M he he he he 😈
