Does anyone know if anyone makes clear tubing in large sizes like 3″ or 4″ that is same size as regular body tubing?
Check McMaster-Carr. Planning an upscale payloader?

Yes, thinkin of building a 3-4x Estes Solar flare. One of the coolest new rockets estes has come out in years. Of course I have to finish my 4x Yellow jacket first
I have a section of 4 inch OD and 3.75 inch ID clear tubing 12 inches long you can check out at MHM if you like.

I think that platics place on south Santa Fe in denver has tube like that.
I’ve seen and used clear Lexan tubing up to 22″ in diameter and I believe they make larger. Most plastic distributors or McMaster Carr would have it or be able to get it. Don’t expect it to be cheap and above 8″, expect 1/4″ as your likely wall thickness.
Back in my days as a contractor, I did passive solar remodels and additions. Used eight 12′ sections of 24″ round tubing for a vertical water wall between a sunroom and the main house once. 3/8″ wall thickness. Was amazed at the stuff they extrude – square sections, triangles… all in a wide variety of sizes.

Thanks all for the resources. Ill try FC plastics first. Mcmaster Carr has a 3′ peice for around 47$ I think it was.
I’ve got some 4″ acrylic tube that I turned down to fit inside regular 4″ tubing. It has 2 shoulders on it. Will you be at the meeting? If so I’ll bring the small sample piece along.

Edward, yes ill be there. Bring it along, I would like to check it out. Im just not sure if ill have time to get this project done in time for MHM. Just got too many irons in the fire. Been trying to get my L2 project done since june and 2 other rockets I started on over 6 years ago.
I would like to talk to ya about hybrids. I would like to get into them sometime this year.
Thanks, Doug
We are Good to Go with our scheduled and approved launch on Saturday April 5th and Sunday April 6th, from the North Site, subject to change – Mostly cloudy and High Winds predicted. Range and waiver should be active by 9AM on Saturday. The Pawnee National Grassland remains fragile and dry, so extra precautions are in order. Please stay on the authorized roads and please don’t park more than 100’ off the road at the flight line.
