Yeah. I didn’t have a good two weeks, with both the M1300 (not 2300 like it says on the caption) and K1440 cato. Luckily, I had a great flight on an M4770 on Sunday here, and hopefully the bad streak is over. I’ll be flying an M (probably) at the July launch, so we’ll see if everything works out.
Oh, and the AMRAAM is no more. The damage is quite extensive. I’ll probably rebuild it at some point, but it’ll need to essentially be rebuilt from scratch.
Here’s a pic from Sunday by the way:

Hey Chris, sorry to hear about the Amraam but good news about your functioning L3 rocket. The picture of the CATO is pretty amazing as it appears as if the motor traveled right through the rocket and pushed everything out the top…except the coupler? I am planning a trip to Hartsel in late june for a try with the 54 dual thrust. Anyway I hope you got to meet Kari Byron and have a safe drive back.

ParticipantYeah, I was trying to figure out the photo as well. The main airframe looks completely intact (at the moment), but then I saw the motor ABOVE it! 😕 You built that thing like a tank, so if it’s totalled, that must’ve been one heck of a cato.
So what’s next for you, Chris? NCR’s first P at the North Site?

We demonstrated that you could still stand on the fins after the CATO.
His Raven survived, too.

Chris, you need just one more, maybe a 38mm case, to make a nice collection for a wind chime.

Already got one. An AT 38/480 from last summer (that one may have been my fault though, unlike the two this year).
