Does anyone have anything special planned for the July 10-11 launch? Anyone gonna camp Saturday night?
Dave
John Wilke, Warren and I are planning to fly new 54mm collaborative effort that will require the call-in waiver.
Is this that woven carbon-nanotube airframe with depleted uranium nosecone project you guys were working on? 😆
With you 3 on it, we know it’s going to either be cool or REALLY cool, and WAY up there!

Thanks. This rocket won’t have anything too exotic, though. And the July launch will be a little shake-down test flight with a relatively small motor. Small for John, that is. 😉
Well I dunno if it is small. I was figuring we’d be flying one of the AMW L1300 BB motors I have in the magazine. Alternative, if it is coming out of my magazine, would be an AT K550 or AT K700.

PS: By the way, the rocket is just sort of a standard Wilke/Adamson/Musselman minimum diameter all-carbon project with a VonKarman nose. The exotic part is Adrian’s electronics and e-bay. I’m just doing the fins and tip to tip work. If the thing doesn’t hold together, you can blame me. If the thing flies right and recovers, the kudos belong to John and Adrian.
Should be a good launch! I plan on flying an AT L2200 Green in my rocket Poindexter at this launch.
I will be attempting to make another slow motion video similar to the one I made last week on a CTI L640 Dual Thrust
Hope to see you guys there!
PS Chris i have your 75-54 adapter and I can drop it off if you need it.

I have a K350 to use in this Bessie as well…. thattaway we can test the off-axis thrust…
I’m also going to fly a KestreL on an aggressive L of some type. We know they can handle the K300s just fine 8)

Your just copying me! 😉
Thats ok because I will be copying you. 😀
Please let me know of window users ahead of time please. I know of two so far, Bill Taylor and Adrain/Wilke/Musselman shot. Will be checking the weather – windows available for either day – suggest you check as well. Thanks.
We are Good to Go with our scheduled and approved launch on Saturday April 5th and Sunday April 6th, from the North Site, subject to change – Mostly cloudy and High Winds predicted. Range and waiver should be active by 9AM on Saturday. The Pawnee National Grassland remains fragile and dry, so extra precautions are in order. Please stay on the authorized roads and please don’t park more than 100’ off the road at the flight line.
