Relatively new here,, so don’t know if this is the appropriate forum or not…
Nearing completion on my first L1 capable (theoretically) bird – an LOC Nuke Pro Maxx – with a couple of minor mods – beefed up the shock cord attachment, put on an Aerotech motor retainer, and just finished glassing the fins today. Won’t have it ready for June club launch, but maybe July.
Wondering if there was anyone willing to spend a few minutes with me at this Saturday’s (June 11) club launch – a quick pre-inspection and advice on the construction so far and a little RockSim help (I’ll bring my laptop) With the mods I’ve done, the CG has moved back towards the CP, so I modified the packaged RockSim file to try to model – but clearly doing something wrong. The results are garbage – at one point I had CG 7 inches BEHIND the motor nozzle. Obviously missing something on how to reference added masses (motor retainers, 38/29 adaptors, etc.).
Appreciate any help anyone can provide.

Jack,
It shows you are in Fort Collins, I’m also located there – if you’d like to come over and I can look it over for you I’d be more than happy to – let me know.

Edward,
I’d appreciate the input – thanks for the offer. At your convenience,, most evenings are open for me. What’s a good time for you?
Jack
We are Good to Go with our scheduled and approved launch on Saturday April 5th and Sunday April 6th, from the North Site, subject to change – Mostly cloudy and High Winds predicted. Range and waiver should be active by 9AM on Saturday. The Pawnee National Grassland remains fragile and dry, so extra precautions are in order. Please stay on the authorized roads and please don’t park more than 100’ off the road at the flight line.
