Foam Shaping on a Large Scale

Hi Folks! anyone have experience with large scale foam shaping .. with the hot wire type process? I could use it to build/shape the Proton nosecone but more so for my next idea .. a huge upscale of the PML Lunar Express.

I’m basically looking at running a glassed tube up the middle, say 8″, and sliding foam rings on that and shaping and glassing them to get the desired effect. It will be big .. 20″ dia and 15′ tall .. or so.

Also, what is the best foam to use for this?
