Any word on how plans for Oktoberfest are coming along? I know the weather has not been are friend this year. I bum knee this summer has prevent any rain dancing from me.
When will volunteer sign be up?
Ron
John W. went camping at the north site this last weekend and said everything was green and beaustiful up there. I presume that would help make it a go for O-fest. It probably would not hurt to have more rain up there between now and then. Just not during, like last year.
We have had so many cancellations this year, that Joe needs to send out an email when it may become possible for us to launch once again.
If Oktoberfest is a possible go, then I need to finally get my rockets ready to launch. Charge the GPS, cameras and test my deployment charges.
But most of all, I need to do my job as Webmaster and filter / approve those who are interested in our activities.
Frankly, I get about one real request in a week and about 100 fake requests. Major clue, is when they all have the same IP addresses.
Do we have a GO in October?
Probably will know for sure by Oktober 1pm.
We are Good to Go with our scheduled and approved launch on Saturday April 5th and Sunday April 6th, from the North Site, subject to change – Mostly cloudy and High Winds predicted. Range and waiver should be active by 9AM on Saturday. The Pawnee National Grassland remains fragile and dry, so extra precautions are in order. Please stay on the authorized roads and please don’t park more than 100’ off the road at the flight line.
