Members and Friends,
Persistent HOT and DRY weather has punished the prairie to the point of a much higher risk and un-safe conditions for NCR’s anticipated rocketry event. HIGH SKIES IN JULY has been cancelled. It is shaping up to be a long, dry summer.
Apologies for the late notice but certainly, were you expecting different news? Please celebrate the Fourth of July safely and responsibly. Plans for a summer celebration are fermenting. In the meantime, looks as if the Southern Colorado Rocketeers remain actively flying – their next launch event even includes a Gliderfest – scheduled for July 15th.
Hope to see you out on the range.
We are Good to Go with our scheduled and approved launch on Saturday April 5th and Sunday April 6th, from the North Site, subject to change – Mostly cloudy and High Winds predicted. Range and waiver should be active by 9AM on Saturday. The Pawnee National Grassland remains fragile and dry, so extra precautions are in order. Please stay on the authorized roads and please don’t park more than 100’ off the road at the flight line.
