Members and Friends,
In case you had any doubts or were still wondering, our High Skies in July launch event has been cancelled. Received the official decision Friday. This will be a long, dry summer. Please note, this drought could last throughout the summer months. Scattered showers have had little effect on the prairie and the vegetation remains cured and very dry. Hopefully, a shift in weather patterns will bring the necessary precipitation to green life up on the Pawnee and help make it possible to resume punching holes in the sky.
Looks like CRASH is still holding launches near Ft. Lupton. SCORE welcomes United Launch Alliance for an Intern launch project on July 20th. Tripoli Colorado hopes to keep flying on July 21st
And August 3rd through 9th, the Southern Colorado Rocketeers will host the National Association of Rocketry Annual Meeting 65! 7 days of flying fun! Low power, high power, contests, etc. 12,000 Ft AGL waiver, 2 NM recovery area! Onsite Camping on their beautiful range!
Celebrate the 4th of July responsibly.
Please stay safe everyone.
Jeffrey JOE Hinton
NCR President
We are Good to Go with our scheduled and approved launch on Saturday April 5th and Sunday April 6th, from the North Site, subject to change – Mostly cloudy and High Winds predicted. Range and waiver should be active by 9AM on Saturday. The Pawnee National Grassland remains fragile and dry, so extra precautions are in order. Please stay on the authorized roads and please don’t park more than 100’ off the road at the flight line.
