I don’t think anyone is arguing or sniping or rattling anyone else’s cage. I learn a LOT here. It may come across as a bit spirited, but that is OK!
See my post at http://www.ncrocketry.org/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=567&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=45 about 3/4ths of the way down the page. It is long, so I won’t recreate it here. It was about difference of opinion. I think I was on pain medication when I wrote it, though 😉

Warren, I’m glad you set this thread straight (sorry!), but I’ve learned quite a few things from it. First, I never thought of using cable-ties or wire to keep an eye-bolt from uncrewing. Second, you can use the cotter pin that you use to keep a U-bolt from uncrewing the bulkhead. Very good posts, guys. 😉

ModeratorIf you sell 1/2″-13 stainless threaded rod, I want some. Short of ordering from McMaster-Carr, I can’t find it anywhere locally. How much for a 12″ chunk?

Sorry Mike cant agree with you on the all thread… I sell the stuff Its rated at at grade 5 in Stainless steel and the standard stuff is grade 2 at a minimum.. And it is far from the weak spot.. Try pulling apart the length of one with what ever you want..
Sorry but that is if people buy all-thread from you. When I ran the hardware department at The Home Depot they as well as Lowes and many other hardware stores where most people get their all-thread is less than grade 1 material. I worked with a gal from Crown Bolt who sells to all the major hardware stores and that is what they get. Unless everyone buys from you Conway then I would have to say most all-thread out there is less than grade one unless they are buying it a specialty place. Oh and I have still seen threads pulled out of a grade five bolt on a rocket before as well. It can happen with the right forces.
Sorry didn’t mean to say people where arguing, maybe more like a very slightly heated debate.
