I want to take this opportunity to thank all the people who helped me get my successful L3 certification flight this weekend.
First, the folks who directly helped me deal with the myriad final details of the flight: Chris LaPanse (Igniter, HD video, advice), John Wilke (TAP, scads and scads of advice, 4-40 nylon screws), Paul Wolaver (CA glue), Kyle Parsons(advice, Quicklinks and the odd tool), Eric Parsons (advice and miscellaneous stuff from his range boxes), Joe Hinton (I couldn’t begin to list), Jon Skuba (yet more nylon screws, advice and other stuff), James Russell (TAP, advice and especially letting me slide on having my paperwork finished before the flight – I still have yet to find my TRA handbook and cert forms after moving in June), Art Hoag (ejection charge advice and much more), Ray LaPanse (THE rocketry photographer), Tim Thomas (98mm seal disk and the reload); Joe Cowan (motor case and closures), Mark Barbee (getting things set up on the pad), Dave Hansen (videographer, verbal abuse/moral support at the pad, etc.), Jim Amos, and probably a bunch of other folks besides who escape me at this very moment.
Most importantly, I need to thank the folks who either helped me build the thing or were somehow instrumental in getting it built: Joe Hinton who suffered through 3 or 4 layup sessions helping me lay-up Kevlar, glass and carbon; John Wilke who’s many influences I can’t even begin to list; Mark Stang and Alex Farkas for their introduction to NC machine tools and aerospace-grade machining techniques; and finally the many, many rocketry folks I’ve met since I joined NCR and whose projects and knowledge helped teach me what I needed to know and to inspire me to do this project.
Thanks everyone…!
Congrats on the successful flight.

you might want to change this now…:)
We are Good to Go with our scheduled and approved launch on Saturday April 5th and Sunday April 6th, from the North Site, subject to change – Mostly cloudy and High Winds predicted. Range and waiver should be active by 9AM on Saturday. The Pawnee National Grassland remains fragile and dry, so extra precautions are in order. Please stay on the authorized roads and please don’t park more than 100’ off the road at the flight line.
