ParticipantHey Conway, thanks again for the boost! For those that missed it, Mr Conway’s Loudmouth Blue formula is great to watch and even more fun to fly. Beautiful motors.
It was my first research launch, and I was more than impressed! Conway, NOW I see why you said you’ve seen more CATO’s with commercial motors. The Russell Reds and Loudmouth Blues were VERY IMPRESSIVE. Thank you for the show!
Thanks Bruce. Im glad you liked them. Im sure I speak for James on that as well.
Most researchers are very careful. More careful then most at commercial launches when it comes to motors. They know that things are different and really try hard to to push safety first. Also higher safety factors at research launches are higher to. BUT like NASCAR we all go to events for the race but love a good crash to.. So when a GOOD and BIG CATO happen its kinda fun to.. Ive done lots of mixing and lots of testing on this formula I have now. I first started off on the first 2 motors I built with Alumaflame,(it was someone else’s formula) But I didnt like the washed out color it gave or the ISP it had. And it really didnt have what I wanted for Characteristics in performance and mixing/processing. So I made my own formula and numbers and low and behold you have Loudmouth blue v.1 (V.2 is in the works with more performance and even better working conditions as far as mixing)
We as NCR and as a research group are fortunate to have the talents we have with folks like James Russell, Jim Amos, Mike Bennett, Eric Parsons, John Bixler and more. Ive seen many and most of the stuff they do their motors are great and fun to watch. My hats off to them..
Bruce I am glad you enjoyed your first Research launch. Its my favorite part of any launch.

ParticipantI am going to be in the air at 8:30 tomorrow. I am flying out over the site in a “well equipped” Cessna 182 to find Big EZ. If I find it, I can mark the lat and long and then James and I will head out and get it after I get down.
I will post an update tomorrow night; hopefully it will be a good one!

Mike Bennett, your research motors were as hot as JamesR and Conway’s. Didn’t mean to leave you out! I still have that eyebolt you wanted… somewhere. Art, let us know when you guys find James’ Big EZ.
