Mike,
That is a way cool looking rocket.
Why the 5100 Ns limit? If you are Tripoli, you can cluster to over that limit if you are a level 2. I believe the documentation for that rule is on the L3 certification page of your membership form. (the one that get’s turned in with your L3 cert).

8) Mike, WOW ! If I may as to be so bold. First flight, Pro75/3gr. L1720. A 3659nt. 440lb thrust, 2 sec. Add 3 X I345 white Lightning 408 nts. Total of around 4883 nts. That will be a great flight! And to do my part, I will give you the L1720 and let you use the hardware for the same price as the K54/ L1030! 😆 Got to see this fly! 8)

Nice work, Mike. I like the look a lot.

MikeSModeratorThey did a fun paint job.
I told Him the basic yellow color. But to ‘have at it’
and show His creativity. It will change somewhat, when I ad some graphic stuff. But for the most
part this is it.One section got reversed. So I will have to do some slight
modification. But a minor problem.April 22, 2009 at 8:55 pm #50157new2hpr
ParticipantYup, your stars and bars are upside down.
I’m sure you can fix it with some of that amazing hand-painting talent!
Looks awesome. I love the metal fins with rivets look.

KeymasterNice one Mike. I myself would be too nervous to fly it after that much work
😆April 23, 2009 at 3:09 am #50159
MikeSModeratorShucks. I did not notice that. Something did not look right
but I could not put my finger on it.I may just leave it. Too many things to finish. May get to it.
Flying it? The wife would ask. Why did You build it then?
As Tim T. says. They Fly, They Fall. And So ON.
I feel pretty confidant about the construction. Pretty
sturdy. Half the joy is in the construction.Except:
I have never used My RRC2 mini.
I have never used My MT3G.
I will use the mini on the RRC2x settings and let
it deploy at apogee. I will use My RRC2x to deploy
the main. And the PerfectFlite MT3G to air start the
three J285s. If I air start them. I will probably light
everthing on the ground. All flights are cool.

ParticipantMike,
If you’re going with the CTI J285’s, definitely airstart them! The Perfectflite timer is SO simple to set up, and fully ground test. And with CTI motors, it JUST WORKS. No dark art of igniter augmenting required.
If I can just get some free time back, now that I’m working again, I’ll repair mine and airstart 3 AMW/ProX 38mm H skids.
