I have noticed that comcast is notoriously bad at ‘caching’ websites on their local servers and feeding that content to users as though it were live. I know this because I would do an update to one of the sites I’m hosting, like my own, and then clear my local caches and refresh the page and it would show old data for several days. in contrast, sites with dynamic data, PHP, etc seem to update immediate (like ROL or the disucssion forums here). I’m not certain why it would show a site down, but I also had this happen once with another clients site on my server. Clients in nevada and in Indiana could see the new active data on the site, but several people using comcast locally could not even access the site. My calls to comcast were stopped at 1st string tek support where they created a ticket for their 2nd string tek support to look into it. hope that helps.
