Sounds great and VERY generous, Edward!
Hopefully 🙂 Anyone who has a rocket that will take 28″ of 54mm motor and weighs less than 10 lbs ready to fly with electronics is welcome.
Edward
Edward,
I have a 3″ bird with an 18″ 54mm motor mount. It has plenty of room for a 28″ motor (stability included) as the BT section is 48″.
Since the permanent motor tube is only 18″, my thoughts are to have a temporary motor tube “extension” held in place by the forward rail button bolt.
Do you think this would work for the Alpha Hybrids?
Ed
correction….
The ‘main’ BT section is 48″. The overall length is 86″
Actually you really dont need much motor tube for any motor. Most newer designs are using rings instead of a tube to save weight and such..
I was thinking of making something that would look like doughnut. Basically an inch or two long to keep it from flopping around and able to hold a backer nut for the rail button. I would make it removable so that it would not interfere with the laundry on non-hybrid flights.
Hey, maybe I should use a real doughnut for those early morning flights – warmed, fresh and ready upon recovery…
Glazed or chocolate?
Powderd of course! Who eats glazed or chocolate in the morning:)
Very cool. Edward has worked really hard to get to this point, should be some cool flights!

Powdered???? Naw…. Powdered are for girls. A real man eats em glazed..
We are Good to Go with our scheduled and approved launch on Saturday April 5th and Sunday April 6th, from the North Site, subject to change – Mostly cloudy and High Winds predicted. Range and waiver should be active by 9AM on Saturday. The Pawnee National Grassland remains fragile and dry, so extra precautions are in order. Please stay on the authorized roads and please don’t park more than 100’ off the road at the flight line.
