Question is… is there any relation? Is that Art’s namesake? I’ve always be meaning to ask… ?
There are two other fairly cool APODS that came up in the last week or so (at least from my perspective)… http://antwrp.gsfc.nasa.gov/apod/ap100821.html was taken from the Pawnee National Grasslands… and today’s http://antwrp.gsfc.nasa.gov/apod/astropix.html was taken from a spot that my wife and I stood on a couple of years ago, when we visited Australia. We have essentially the same photo from the same pullout, though ours was taken in daylight.

BTW, if you look through the ring of Hoag’s object (the photo that started this link), you can see a SECOND “Hoag’s Object” in the distance – it is at ~1 O’clock in the photo. For many years, there were only two of these known – and they were in line with each other. Hmmmmnnnn….
3 very excellent pictures.

We are Good to Go with our scheduled and approved launch on Saturday April 5th and Sunday April 6th, from the North Site, subject to change – Mostly cloudy and High Winds predicted. Range and waiver should be active by 9AM on Saturday. The Pawnee National Grassland remains fragile and dry, so extra precautions are in order. Please stay on the authorized roads and please don’t park more than 100’ off the road at the flight line.
