I have access to a box from a friend of mine out east. He is a high explosives certified and needs a bigger box. I don’t know what class it would be, I forgot to ask him. He has the ATF papers on it though.
It’s 65″ long, 18.25″ high and 24″ wide, on casters. It’s 1/8″ thick steel plate and lined w/ 3/4″ thick plywood. He wants $250 for it.
What do you guys think? Could any of you use it? I would use it for motors and to store some rare ammo and gun parts in. But, who knows….

That’s a good price but shipping will be expensive. Since it has been blessed by the BAFTE for explosives storage, it’s probably worth the investment. The key points would be the locks and whatever agent you have that happens to do the approval inspection here, wherever it ends up.
I can pick it up next time I am out there working.
He was building a new box that I think was 56x56x56 that was mounted to a trailer, 1.5″ thick steel plate with 1.5″ thick wood inside. I think the trailer was to get it back to his shop……
Down hole wireline/logging companies get to play with some really hot stuff. You ought to feel the ground jump when we shoot a 12′ long gun perforating a well 3300′ deep.
We are Good to Go with our scheduled and approved launch on Saturday April 5th and Sunday April 6th, from the North Site, subject to change – Mostly cloudy and High Winds predicted. Range and waiver should be active by 9AM on Saturday. The Pawnee National Grassland remains fragile and dry, so extra precautions are in order. Please stay on the authorized roads and please don’t park more than 100’ off the road at the flight line.
