BALLS was EPIC! We saw a hybrid go over 100K, and I saw the most incredible flight I have ever seen… a P-to-P rocket that executed *perfectly*… the rocket’s name was “Miss September”. It was the consensus monster flight this year. The aforementioned hybrid came in hot… but there were a lot of great flights.
We had 9 guys from NCR there. I’ll let the others talk about their flights – there were some dandies! For my part, I flew a 100% stock KestreL 3 times… first on a K300 (24,000′), on an L640 (24,434′) and an L935 (24,828′) – all three recoveries were perfect.
The weather could not have been better… totally calm, totally clear, etc. What a great launch…
That is so cool.
You know, JW, it may become routine for hpr to go orbital someday… soon! 😯 Very nice!
We are Good to Go with our scheduled and approved launch on Saturday April 5th and Sunday April 6th, from the North Site, subject to change – Mostly cloudy and High Winds predicted. Range and waiver should be active by 9AM on Saturday. The Pawnee National Grassland remains fragile and dry, so extra precautions are in order. Please stay on the authorized roads and please don’t park more than 100’ off the road at the flight line.
