ParticipantLike JW I to knew Joe San Fillipe. Was a friend and hung out with him. But He was at the time when I wanted something for rocketry from a local who I called to order and buy from as he was the only one to get it right. I too can remember calling and getting the interrogation as well. Funny I guess that my buying orders of AT motors at that time for 300 to 500 bucks plus all the other hundreds if not more dollars wasnt worth it every six months to keep a knowledgeable good guy around. Sounds to me like the have no idea what an employee should be treated as or for that matter give the customers a person as a representative to get what they want. Joe its their loss really. Not yours as we know what you have to offer. I have no issues boycotting aplace such as this. In fact for some time now I havent been able to get squat here locally at Ft Collins.. To busy with Rc cars and Pool tables..
Joe for what its worth.. if I can do anything to help Let me know.
Hey Doug.. So what do you do and who do you work for. Just curious..

Conway, you must have missed the link I snuck in
http://www.nrao.edu/ I work as an Engineer/Technical Manager but there is a huge variety of jobs from technicians, administrative, mechanics, HVAC, etc. There is usually a position open all the time but for a particular field not so often.Doug

As a current employee here, we are all pretty upset about this. This just truly shows what the people who run this company are truly like. I know that a few of us have already put in our notice and most of the rest of us will as soon as we can get something else lined up.

ParticipantJoe, you’re the one who introduced me to NCR and turned me on to all this HPR stuff and I have had a ton of fun (and spent a lot of $ at Hobbytown!) thanks to you. I’m really sad to hear what happened AND sad that I spent $80 at HT last week – the last purchase I’ll be making there! I’ve been thinking about making LPR purchases off the web but was sticking with HT because of YOU! No more!
I hope everything works out for you and I hope to still see you at NCR launches. Those guys at HT have no idea what they’ve lost, in a great employee and representative AND in loyal customers with an expensive hobby!
BTW, this is Greg R, the Cub Scout guy …

ParticipantIve always believed they really do not want to support rocketry as a hobby. They want the Rc folks and the pool table stuff and the Trains and gaming stuff. They have proven this to me on many occasions by not having ANYONE except in the time ive known of joe sanfilipe and Big Joe to have any kind of knowledge of what rocket even is. The lack of people to support what I believe is a state thats highly rich with people being in abundance that enjoy this hobby and are willing to drop a fair amount of coin. The other way they have proven it is the lack of products at specific locations or the reduction in size of the rocketry section to only be replaced with lame stuff. Now what they have I could fit into a broom closet. Again to bad on their part. Now without Joe they are again left with no one to do what needs to be done or care for the customer. The sad part is that Hobby Town should be smart enough that when young rocketeers come in looking for stuff and a place to fly they should refer them to a club here in our state so we can help them grow in the hobby as well as bring new blood into the hobby.. meaning more $$$ that could be spent with a vendor or store… Its called making your customers… But they have no care for us.. or our $$$ thats sad.

MikeSModeratorI spent around $1500.00 this year. Most NOT at HT. When I ran My Wife
down to that area for Scrapbooking stuff. I ran into HT while she was shopping. Always picked up a G something. No More.
Plus freight from vendors is now cheeper than fuel.
Now I have to set in the ‘Man Chair’ at Archiver’s.
The last year I had not purchaed much there any way.
They sure missed the boat.
Thanks To All The Vendors That Show Up At Launches!
