Anybody have any workable suggestions for cleaning the black powder stains off Nomex chute protectors and harness lines? Carbon is not water soluble, but there must be a way… after all, we get it off our hands, in time. Thought about putting it in the washing machine just before my wife does her whites… bad idea? Also, will laundry detergent do any damage to Nomex? My wife would definitely do damage to me if I did that.
Tide with bleach, small load with very dark towels as a buffer, and it works. My wife showed me how to clean them. After a lot of DD ground testing, they needed it. Case closed.
We are Good to Go with our scheduled and approved launch on Saturday April 5th and Sunday April 6th, from the North Site, subject to change – Mostly cloudy and High Winds predicted. Range and waiver should be active by 9AM on Saturday. The Pawnee National Grassland remains fragile and dry, so extra precautions are in order. Please stay on the authorized roads and please don’t park more than 100’ off the road at the flight line.
