Grrrr. Guess I need to find a new way to the launches.

That is good to know. Of course you are aware that there are lots of other ways to get to the Atlas Site, for the March launch, which will be the last time we are at the Atlas Site until November, as scheduled. You can always take 392 thru Windsor and take it all the way to Briggsdale. TL on 14, going west and the gate should be about two miles on the right.
BEAR
Bear, Remember, there are 4 offramps in Briggsdale. You take the third one. It is marked ‘BRIGGSDALE INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT’. Go past the terminal and turn left at the roundabout. You can see the launch site from there! 🙄
Or just follow the marked Detour route and enjoy the scenic journey.
Tim, thanks for the reminder, in my haste, I forgot to mention those important details. I understand that BIA (Briggsdale International Airport) has been having financial difficulties in these difficult times, so they are selling space in the control tower. So besides being the control tower for the airfield, it is also the Briggsdale National Forest Fire Lookout tower. They are also considering putting a restaurant in at the top for the tremendous view.
Hwy 14 is limited to one lane alternating thru Monday thru Friday only. ( I dont usually drive it on weekends) In June it will close completely for 30 days.
We are Good to Go with our scheduled and approved launch on Saturday April 5th and Sunday April 6th, from the North Site, subject to change – Mostly cloudy and High Winds predicted. Range and waiver should be active by 9AM on Saturday. The Pawnee National Grassland remains fragile and dry, so extra precautions are in order. Please stay on the authorized roads and please don’t park more than 100’ off the road at the flight line.
