Thanks for the input Bear. That’s about what it looks like to me, but I figured I’d ask. I was surprised CTI didn’t have the specs. on there site. I cut a few different sizes of all-thread to bring with me, but I’m going to pre-install the 1/2″ one. Much easier to setup it up before I epoxy the bulkhead in place.
Thanks
What is on the other side of your all thread? I find for short lengths (<1" long) I trust inset hex set screws. You can tighten them down with an allen wrench and then screw what you want onto that.

Hey,
I cut 1/2″ piece of 54mm coupler with a bulkhead on the on the aft side. Bulkhead will do 2 things, 1- hold anchor for lanyard to forward rocket section, with the all thread sticking out the aft side. 2- Piece of all-thread sits in front of motor 1″ with 3/4″ of the all thread showing for screwing the plugged motor into, so will be for motor retention. The tricky part I think is, i wont be able to use friction tape for extra security, because then I wouldn’t be able to turn the motor onto the all-thread. I should have taken a picture before I epoxied it in. Hopefully the plugged portion of the motor can hold on, the caseing itself weighs just over a pound.
Hey guys,
So i’m still curious, do we think the plug in the motor will hold 1/2″ of 1/4-20 threaded rod?
Thanks
No I dont! Its composite. At least I would not trust it! There is a Blind nut you dont see in the picture above on the underside of that forward closure. The teeth or spikes have been flatened. The hole was reamed to accept the shaft or shank of the blind nut.
