Hi All,
Just thought I would mention that the Feb 2009 Scientific American has an interesting article in it about the use of electrically powered (plasma and ion) spacecraft. A great historical overview and intro to the subject. There was also a good overview of Konstantin Tsiolkovsky’s “Rocket Equation” used to calculate the mass of fuel needed for a given mission.
I enjoyed the read a lot!
Cheers,
John
