If you want real FFFFG black power and want it locally. The only place I have found so far that sells it is the Blunderbuss.
http://www.theblunderbuss.com/It’s an old time black powder gun shop….. I will be stopping off there on the way home today and will post up prices.

ParticipantClosed Sunday and Monday. Open from 10 to 5 daily otherwise – I think. I was in a hurry to get down the road to the car dealership before parts dept closed. I’ll be back there again tomorrow afternoon – service appt at 1:00, so who knows. I was given the info on the place that was there recently, so it is supposed to be open still…
One of these days Scott, we’ll get that rocket of yours up and tracked…. Get an altimeter before the next launch and study it…. Pot calling the Kettle black :P, I need to get up to speed on my altimeters too….

I always go there. Nice guy, just say you’re a rocket guy, he knows what that means. Bought two last December. Never been closed when I stopped by… but I always call first. December price for a pound of 4F from last December $20… used to be ~$15.

ModeratorJust remember, it is technically illegal to purchase black powder for rocketry use. The only legal use is black powder firearms.

Participantgeeee Warren, gotta kill all the fun… 😆
Define black powder firearm????? My rocked is a barrel shooting out stuff other than lead…. Of course, I could put some lead in there and help get it closer the the definition of a muzzleloader.
Don’t you just love it, a newb comes in here and acts like he has discovered the fountain of youth, when all the rest of the crew knows the secret…. Man, I gotta start hanging out with you guys more. I’d quit embarrassing myself.
Now, that said, there was some cool pistols in there that need a home in my vault. Bad idea to go in the store. 😉 He is out till Friday, darn.

ModeratorAlso, remember that ffff powder has only one use – priming charge in the pan on flintlock weapons. Most BP weapons use 3f, 2f or 1f as the actual charge to fire the bullet.

Thats what I was buying it for 🙂 .
54 Cal. Knight Rifles. Composite stocks, stainless steal barrels, Shot gun primers, and Maxi-Balls just what they used in the old days. 😉
The Hawkens hang on the wall. The knight Rifles are for the bush.June 11, 2008 at 12:12 am #48237Bruce R. Schaefer

Whats a Flint-Lock? Is that before we started using Shotgun primers?
I’ll have to get one, so I can use up this 4f. -
